Mini, the famous brand is very well-known for its stylish look and performance vehicles. This brand was started in the year 1959 and the cars were manufactured by British Motor Corporation (BMC) in England. Due to fuel crisis, the country was looking for fuel efficient cars. BMC introduced cars into the market in the name of Austin and Morris. In 1961, the brand launched Mini Cooper and it was a grand success. Mini Cooper was designed by John Cooper, a famous Formula One race car designer. S model was the next popular series from Cooper which had double engine horsepower. Mini targeted the US market to market their models in the year 1962. During 1960s, the brand came up with the models Mini Pickup and the Mini Moke. Mini sold 2 million cars by the end of the decade.
